Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to oversee driver dispatch across the metro area. You will monitor progress, adjust schedules, maximize loads, and coordinate with branches to ensure on-time deliveries while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations knowledge.
• Diligent attention to safety.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, adding/cancelling/ changing equipment location or delivery time.
• Perform safety inspections per company and governmental policies.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
