Job summary

Hands of Heartland in West Point, NE, is seeking an Area Director to oversee day-to-day service operations across area facilities, including day services, residential services, or supported employment. You will be the primary contact for DHHS oversight inquiries and investigations, with a salary based on experience.

The role requires coaching and mentoring coordinators, managing budgets, developing policies, and maintaining quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field preferred.
• Five years of progressive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Five years of management experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving record.
• Pay based on direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, coach, and mentor coordinators who supervise Direct Support Professionals.
• Manage operational aspects to ensure smooth, compliant area operations.
• Undertake sound financial management to keep area profitable and within budget.
• Develop and maintain program policies to ensure compliance with state and Hands of Heartland regulations.
• Respond timely to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, or standards of conduct.
• Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure QA and compliance issues are evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
• Ensure proper reporting of violations to authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.
• Maintain an effective QA communication program by promoting awareness of the Standards of Conduct.
• Ensure all employees receive appropriate training including new hire, recertifications, and in-service trainings.
• Regularly report on the operations of assigned area, progress of compliance/QA efforts, or other requested reports.
• Complete all other duties as assigned
