Job summary

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA in Rhode Island is seeking an Area Director who will lead a ministry team, plant witnessing communities on campuses, and grow students and faculty who follow Jesus.

The role involves visionary leadership, staff supervision, program development, fundraising through MPD, and collaboration with regional and national partners. Travel to campuses is expected; 40 hours/week standard.

Qualifications

• Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement; abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years campus ministry or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong ministry and leadership skills including vision casting, teaching biblical principles.
• Ability to work with diverse campus communities and staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a ministry team to plant witnessing communities on campuses.
• Set vision and goals with staff and students.
• Develop plans and structures to move the mission forward.
• Recruit and develop ministers and staff.
• Build relationships with regional and national partners and donors.
• Manage regional and national collaboration.
