Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a Bus Operations Supervisor to oversee daily route operations and personnel in an assigned area. This role manages the bus lot team, recruits, staffs, evaluates, and develops personnel while ensuring strong performance across the group.

The position requires knowledge of local streets, traffic safety rules, and the ability to coordinate routes and schedules with schools and communities. Light travel and shift coverage are possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 60 college credits in transportation, management, or related field preferred.
• Three years' experience in transportation operations, safety and training, or a related field required.
• Experience with bus route dispatching, coordination, or supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and revise area bus routes in collaboration with the Senior Operations Supervisors.
• Supervise bus drivers/attendants, ensure safety, routes, and schedules.
• Complete driver/attendant evaluations; provide backup to the Bus Dispatcher.
• Coordinate with principals and communities to resolve concerns and review routes.
