As an Area Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting financial operations across our portfolio by ensuring accurate invoicing, maintaining organized records, and upholding credit policies and internal controls. You will manage accounts receivable reports, assist with month-end processes, and monitor daily revenue and settlements to ensure our hotel and restaurant systems remain accurate, balanced, and efficient.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee's leading hotel ownership and management company, proudly operates three of the city's most iconic properties: Hilton Milwaukee, a premier convention headquarters hotel; The Pfister Hotel, a recently renovated historic luxury landmark; and Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel, a dynamic and creative hub for arts and events. Together, these properties offer 1,255 guest rooms, over 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and several restaurant outlets.

What you will be doing:

  1. Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing while maintaining records that support credit policies, internal controls, and documentation requirements.
  2. Maintain accounts receivable reports, spreadsheets, and handle month-end activities and special projects as assigned.
  3. Monitor daily revenues and settlements, ensuring accuracy across hotel and restaurant systems.
  4. Provide timely, high-quality customer service, including resolving credit card inquiries and chargebacks within required timeframes.
  5. Manage customer billing for groups, corporate, intercompany, rentals, and attrition, while keeping organized billing files.
  6. Oversee collections and payment postings of receivables, ensuring targets for current and delinquent accounts are met and reported.
  7. Review daily revenue by partnering with front office and night audit teams to ensure timely, accurate postings, balancing, and reporting.
  8. Perform daily balancing of credit card batches, sales tax, allowances, and miscellaneous charges to support accurate Daily Revenue Reporting.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 years of hospitality industry experience in front desk, F&B, accounting, or administration preferred.
  2. Solid understanding of financial statements, GAAP concepts, and hospitality financial controls, systems, and procedures.
  3. Strong problem-solving, data analysis, documentation, and multitasking skills, with sensitivity to confidential information.
  4. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex spreadsheets; familiarity with hotel property management and POS systems highly desired.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  6. Strong critical thinking, project management, delegation, auditing, and training capabilities.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; well-organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  8. Willingness to travel between downtown Milwaukee locations and work flexible schedules to meet business deadlines; knowledge of sales, use tax, and labor laws preferred.
