Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures with independence and initiative for diagnostic sonography. The role involves operating equipment, patient assessment, documentation, and education within the department’s standards.

Minimum qualifications include ARDMS Physics, high school diploma or GED, ARDMS program graduate, and BLS. Preferred one year of experience with strong computer skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be ARDMS registered in Physics.
• Current BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED; graduate of ARDMS program.
• Preferred: one year experience.
• Ability to perform quality sonographic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate all sonographic equipment according to specifications.
• Produce high-quality sonograms within department standards.
• Follow radiation safety practices and monitor film badge when applicable.
• Maintain patient records per department standards and ensure proper documentation.
• Assess patients per ordered exam with appropriate prep and history, involving nursing when indicated.
• Provide patient education related to the exam and document findings.
• Utilize RIS and CPAC procedures accurately and completely.
• Perform other duties including stocking rooms, training staff, and special projects.
