Job summary

CCI Industrial Services LLC seeks an Environmental Spill Response Technician to protect Alaska’s Arctic environment by rapidly responding to petroleum and hazardous material spills across the North Slope oilfields. The role is field-based, requiring hands-on work in extreme weather and remote sites, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SPCC and Facility Response Plans.
  • Knowledge of chemical properties of petroleum products and other hazardous materials.
  • Experience with Oil spill containment and cleanup technologies (booms, skimmers, sorbents).
  • Knowledge of confined space entry, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, and PPE.
  • Operation of spill response equipment (e.g., vacuum trucks, absorbent booms, skimmers).
  • Minor equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to assess spill situations and determine containment/cleanup methods quickly.
  • Maintain accurate and legally sound documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to oil, fuel, glycol, chemical, and other hazardous material spills across the North Slope.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency spill kits, PPE, and response vehicles for readiness.
  • Support excavation and remediation activities under supervision.
  • Maintain detailed records of materials used, quantities recovered, weather conditions, and response timelines.
  • Follow safety procedures, use PPE, and participate in safety briefings.
