Job summary

Fairweather seeks an experienced Emergency Response Specialist / Chief to oversee safe, compliant delivery of all emergency response services across Alaska assets. You will lead an on-call team, coordinate with operations, and collaborate with regulators to ensure fire protection, life safety, and spill response readiness.

The role requires extensive ICS experience, advanced certifications, and a strong track record in training and equipment management.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree in Fire Science/Emergency Management (or related field).
• 10 years of experience leading emergency response volunteers within ICS.
• Firefighter II certification (IFSAC/Pro Board).
• Fire Service Instructor I certification (IFSAC/Pro Board).
• AK EMT III (or ability to obtain within 24 months).
• ICS 100-200 courses completed.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Alaska emergency response laws.

Responsibilities

• Serve as On-Scene Commander for incidents and lead on-call responders.
• Coordinate with operations to recruit and train on-call response teams.
• Develop cost-effective external training programs for staff and partners.
• Manage a fleet of emergency equipment and ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with Alaska Clean Seas and regulators on spill, fire, and safety.
• Maintain multi-tier fire prevention programs and pre-fire plans.
