Job summary

North Slope Borough seeks a station support specialist to manage fuel deliveries, records, and reporting while maintaining fuel storage facilities. You will support spill response readiness and ensure filing systems remain accurate and confidential.

Required training includes Spill Response, IS-100/200/700/800, CPR/AED/First Aid, and potential RCRA/HAZWOPER certifications during probation. This role is based at the fuel station sites in Alaska.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED or 12 years of education and related work experience.
• Ability to obtain Spill Response training within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800; CPR, AED and Basic First Aid certifications.
• Probationary period: ability to obtain site-specific RCRA training (40 C.F.R. 265.16).
• Probationary period: ability to obtain HAZWOPER certification.
• Probationary period: ability to obtain Small Quantity Handler training.
• Probationary period: SPCC training (40 C.F.R. 112.7).

Responsibilities

• Handle collections of fuel delivery fees and pumped fuel at the station.
• Maintain records of fuel deliveries and fuel dispensed.
• Prepare monthly and annual reports.
• Perform daily maintenance of fuel storage facilities.
• Maintain spill response kits and assist with deployment of spill response equipment.
• Enter information into computer tracking systems and train clerical staff.
• Answer incoming telephone and radio calls and direct inquiries.
• Retrieve and distribute Department mail.
• Greet and assist visitors and maintain confidentiality of records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
