Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) in Utqiaġvik, Alaska is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Manager to lead a team that facilitates two-way communication between researchers and Arctic communities. Qualifications

• Familiar with or has worked around Indigenous communities in the Arctic.
• Bachelor of Science or similar degree required.
• Advanced computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Willing to travel for the role.
• Experience presenting to large groups.
• Prior O&E experience is a plus.
• Experience developing mixed media materials.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of outreach and engagement projects; submit changes to clients as needed.
• Supervise Science Liaisons with clear task assignments and performance oversight.
• Create content across media platforms including podcasts, flyers, and event programs.
• Submit weekly or monthly program deliverables per contract.
• Engage with Utqiaġvik and other Arctic communities to support co-production of knowledge.
• Monitor and report progress of O&E projects with transparency to stakeholders.
• Build relationships with institutions like Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission and others.
• Deliver presentations at conferences to promote community co-production in Arctic research.
