Job summary

UIC Science is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Manager to lead its established outreach program supporting Arctic research. You will build a team and collaborate with researchers and communities to promote two-way communication and shared findings through events and school programs.

The role requires cultural awareness, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to co-producing knowledge with Arctic communities.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Indigenous communities in the Arctic or equivalent experience.
• Ability to present to large groups and engage diverse audiences.
• Willing to travel and work in remote or rural communities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scope, schedule, and budget for outreach projects and report progress.
• Supervise Science Liaison(s) and allocate tasks.
• Create content across media platforms including events and materials.
• Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Represent UIC Science at meetings and deliver presentations.
