Job summary

Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville is seeking a flexible support staff member for the Division of Visual Art & Design - Architecture. You will assist faculty, staff, and students with classroom technology, equipment, and events while keeping labs and work areas clean and organized.

On site duties include answering calls, directing visitors, maintaining documents and records, managing supplies and textbook inventories, and supporting tutoring and 3D printing tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Registered for 9.0 credit hours for Fall and Spring.
• Registered for 6.0 credit hours for summer.
• Experience in college/university environment preferred.
• Experience with Adobe or Autodesk products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answering Division phone calls
• Directing and assisting walk-in traffic
• Assisting students with classroom technology and equipment
• Fielding student, staff, and faculty inquiries
• Communicating effectively through oral and written communication
• Creating and maintaining various documents and records
• Assisting with bookkeeping and accounting records/reports
• Assisting with personal training initiatives and related records
• Tracking and ordering textbook inventories
• Facilitating student registration exceptions
• Managing and arranging display cases of student work
• Displaying announcements and advertising for upcoming events
• Taking meeting minutes
• Filing Division documents, both electronically and physically
• Safeguarding confidential information
• Assisting with inventory of computers and office equipment
• Handling and distributing mail
• Updating and maintaining division documents
• Maintaining architecture classrooms
• Reporting general division problems
• Performing simple equipment and furniture repairs/replacements
• Being capable and available to assist students, faculty, and staff with department-related work
• Maintaining and managing lab and workroom areas
• Keeping lab areas well organized
• Being punctual in attendance and work when scheduled
• May be asked to assist in student tutoring for the department
• Performing other duties as needed and assigned
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Office
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
