Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• For Intermediate Specification Writers: 5+ years as architect/engineer/construction manager with focus on specs.
• For Senior Specification Writers: 10+ years as architect/engineer/construction manager with focus on specs.
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec content.
• Experience with one or more specification authoring solutions (cloud-based or otherwise).
• Experience with MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Integrate with project teams and help set project goals and scope.
• Prepare the Project Manual.
• Prepare and coordinate the Conditions of the Contract.
• Coordinate specifications with drawings/BIM and with engineering disciplines.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables.
• Support Construction Administration reviews of submittals and RFIs.
• Balance multiple project teams and types.
• Develop and maintain firm-wide specification masters.
• Research materials and products for performance and sustainability.
• Participate in firmwide documentation standards and coordinate with BIM.
• Contribute to specifications initiatives.
