Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Architectural SME for Data Centers to provide technical leadership across a nationwide US portfolio. The role focuses on AI-enabled data centers with resiliency and sustainability at the forefront, coordinating architectural, MEP, and security requirements.

Ideal candidates will have direct data center experience, licensed status, and a history of leading complex programs with a focus on design excellence and client impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 20+ years in architectural design; 15+ years in mission-critical/data center environments.
• Licensed Architect (RA) with knowledge of building codes, ADA, and sustainability frameworks.
• Proven expertise in site planning, envelope design, modular construction, and BIM coordination.
• Proven record of technical innovation solving client’s challenges.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple data center programs.
• Lead site and building design, driving innovation in modularization and envelope systems.
• Ensure code compliance, constructability, and coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Represent Jacobs’ design expertise in client engagements and industry forums.
• Mentor architects in the data center practice and contribute to thought leadership.
• Support design reviews, quality assurance, and construction administration across projects.
