Job summary

El Paso County 911 District seeks an architectural coordinator to assist in the preparation and coordination of architectural and public works projects. Under general supervision, you will contribute to design reviews and project documentation.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing floor plans, researching building codes, and coordinating with staff and consultants to resolve design and construction issues. Familiarity with drafting systems and CAD software is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or related field.
Must be enrolled in NCARB approved AXP within first month following appointment and maintain enrollment during employment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the review and coordination of architectural and public works projects.
Conduct preliminary review of architectural designs for construction and renovation projects.
Review plans and specifications for design problems, construction issues and compliance to standards.
Prepare and evaluate building spatial designs and plans.
Review construction projects and coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical and landscaping designs.
Conduct pre- and post-construction field observations.
Prepare architectural floor plans.
Research applicable building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations and other pertinent ordinances.
Prepare graphic drawings for presentation.
Utilize computer design software, equipment and drafting systems.
Meet with City officials and interested parties to move a project to completion.
Evaluate construction equipment, materials, time, cost estimates and installation criteria.
Prepare technical reports and maintain records.
