Job summary

The Civil Engineer position with El Paso County Public Works requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least two years’ experience in road and building construction, with review of plans, cost estimates and inspections. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college; two years in road/building construction; two years in plan reviews, cost estimates, inspections.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

Establishes, directs and supervises design and construction projects and reviews contractor work.
Coordinate design criteria, schedules, priorities, and deadlines for civil engineering projects.
Inspect workmanship, materials, and equipment to ensure conformance with specs and safety standards.
Prepare reports, cost estimates, and design documents for public works projects.
