Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas seeks an Architect to support design and coordination of public buildings and infrastructure. Under general supervision, you will assist in preparing architectural and public works plans and review designs for construction and renovation projects.

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture or Architectural Engineering and be enrolled in NCARB's AXP within the first month, maintaining enrollment toward licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Must enroll in NCARB-AXP within the first month and maintain enrollment until licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and coordinating architectural and public works projects.
• Conduct preliminary review of designs for construction and renovation projects.
• Review plans and specifications for design issues and standards compliance.
• Prepare and evaluate building spatial designs and floor plans.
• Coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical and landscaping designs.
• Conduct pre- and post-construction field observations.
• Prepare graphic drawings and presentations.
• Meet with city officials to move projects to completion.
• Evaluate equipment, materials, time, cost estimates and installations.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain project records.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
