Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Architectural Designer II to independently perform a range of architectural assignments on medium to large projects. You will contribute to design development, documentation, and coordination with project teams, applying established principles and techniques.

The role requires a NAAB-accredited degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) and 6+ years of experience, with proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Enscape, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Qualifications

• B.Arch or M.Arch from NAAB-accredited program.
• 6+ years of related architecture experience.
• Proficient with CAD and graphic software including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe CC.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced architectural concepts and design methods to develop quality design solutions
• Prepare architectural drawings and construction documentation in accordance with established standards, building codes, zoning regulations, sustainability requirements, and scope
• Utilize architectural design, modeling, and graphic software, including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar applications to develop drawings, models, and visualizations in support of project deliverables, with limited guidance from senior staff
• Develop and coordinate architectural specifications to align with construction documents and technical requirements
• Conduct code research and summarize requirements that inform design decisions, coordination, and documentation
• Assist in the development of client presentation materials, participate in internal and external meetings as appropriate, and support meeting documentation and followup tasks
• Perform quality control reviews throughout the phases of design to support technical accuracy and documentation quality
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities and demonstrate a commitment to building technical expertise, professional judgment, and continued growth within the firm.
