Qualifications

• B.Arch or M.Arch from an NAAB-accredited program.
• 10+ years of related architecture experience and 2+ years leading medium-to-large projects.
• Proficient with CAD/BIM software (Revit, Rhino, Enscape, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe CC).

Responsibilities

• Participate in concept design and provide full support through projects.
• Apply advanced architectural concepts to develop quality design solutions.
• Collaborate with designers, consultants to produce drawings and docs per standards.
• Develop lead technical viewpoints and coordinate with project leadership on solutions.
• Develop and coordinate architectural specs to align with docs.
• Conduct code research to inform decisions and documentation.
• Perform QC reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Prepare client presentation materials and present solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Possibly lead BIM coordination tasks and BIM standards adherence.
• Travel to project sites as needed.

Position summary: The Architectural Designer IIIis a senior architectural professional who independently delivers a wide range of architectural assignments for projects of medium to large size and complexity. The role provides technical leadership on defined aspects of complex projects, coordinating with project teams to develop appropriate design solutions. The Architectural Designer III applies advanced technical proficiency and sound design judgment while supporting quality control, producing client-facing presentation materials, and presenting technical and design solutions to clients as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Participate in the concept design and provides full support through the entire project
• Applies advanced architectural concepts and design methods to develop quality design solutions
• Collaborate with designers, consultants, and staff to produce architectural drawings, construction documentation, and visualizations that meet client goals and comply with applicable standards, codes, and project requirements using industry‑standard software tools
• Develops and represents lead technical viewpoints on projects
• Coordinates with project leadership on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies
• Develop and coordinate architectural specifications to align with construction documents and technical requirements
• Conduct code research and summarize requirements that inform design decisions, coordination, and documentation
• Perform quality control reviews throughout the phases of design to support technical accuracy and documentation quality
• Develop client presentation material, meeting documentation, reports, etc.
• Presents directly to the client on technical and design solutions
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities and demonstrate a commitment to building technical expertise, professional judgment, and continued growth within the firm
• May serve in a supporting BIM leadership capacity (e.g., BIM Job Captain) by assisting with model coordination, BIM standards application, and documentation workflows, depending on project needs and experience level

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Required Experience

• B.Arch or M.Arch degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program
• 10+ years of related architecture experience and 2+ years executing projects of medium to large size
• Proficient with computer-assisted design and graphic software such as Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, etc.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Understanding ofbasic codes and sustainability requirements
• Understanding of Building Programming
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Qualifications Preferred

• M.Arch degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program
• Actively pursuing Registered Architect license
• LEED AP accreditation
• Experience in architectural practice in education, transportation, aviation, community, federal, or a related market
• Exposure to environmental analysis applications such as Climate Studio, Sefaira, Insight360, and Lady Bug/Honeybee

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Travel to JMT locations and project sites is required as needed.
