Job summary

STV's Washington, DC Architecture practice is seeking an Architectural Designer I with 0-5 years of professional experience to join our growing multidisciplinary design team within the Buildings Group. We welcome emerging architectural professionals with different strengths and career interests.

Some candidates may bring strong design and visualization skills, while others may be more technically oriented toward documentation, building systems, or constructability.

Qualifications

• Strong architectural fundamentals including plans, sections, elevations, spatial relationships, and basic building organization.
• Ability to communicate architectural ideas through drawings, diagrams, models, and graphics.
• Curiosity about how buildings are designed, coordinated, constructed, and operated.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to develop sound documentation habits.
• Willingness to learn new software, workflows, and project requirements.
• Ability to work across different project types and phases while collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Design and Project Development: Support architectural design, planning, documentation, visualization, and project coordination across different phases of work.
• Architectural Documentation: Assist with floor plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and other drawings under supervision.
• Revit Modeling and Documentation: Develop and maintain Revit models and drawing content per project standards.
• Design Exploration: Contribute to design studies, diagrams, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and other disciplines while learning building system interactions.
• Project Coordination: Assist project architects and managers with meeting materials and documentation.
• Design Technology: Explore digital tools and workflows to improve quality and productivity.
• Quality Control: Incorporate markups and ensure model and drawing consistency.
