Job summary

STV’s Washington, DC Architecture practice is seeking an Architectural Designer II with 5–8 years of professional experience to support a growing portfolio of transportation, civic, federal, institutional, and other complex building projects.

You will contribute from design development through construction documentation, working with project architects, designers, and engineers to produce coordinated drawings and buildable documentation.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 5–8 years of professional architectural experience, with substantial involvement in design development and construction documentation.
• Experience assembling and coordinating architectural drawing sets, understanding drawing hierarchy and annotations.
• Knowledge of architectural detailing, building materials, and constructability principles.
• Familiarity with building codes, accessibility, life-safety requirements, and conventional construction practices.
• Strong proficiency in Revit: modeling, views, sheets, families, and project templates; coordination with linked models; production of coordinated sheets.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural construction documents (floor plans, elevations, sections, details).
• Coordinate drawing sets for consistency across plans, sections, details, and specifications.
• Develop architectural details addressing interfaces between building assemblies and systems.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines.
• Develop and maintain Revit models, views, sheets, schedules, and annotations per BIM standards.
• Participate in model and drawing reviews to resolve coordination issues before submission.
• Support code compliance, accessibility, life-safety considerations in documentation.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings during construction administration.
• Communicate progress and coordination needs clearly; own assigned drawing packages.
