Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Director, World Model & Agentic Learning to lead an AI science team building an enterprise world model and agentic-learning capability for the R&D AI platform. This role shapes technical direction and partners with domain experts to scale knowledge-driven decisions.

You will lead 4–8 AI scientists, ensure rigorous, auditable decision processes, and collaborate with data strategy, regulatory, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of post‑academic industry experience building and shipping AI/ML systems with architecture ownership.
• Deep hands-on expertise with modern AI systems: LLMs, retrieval‑augmented generation, agentic frameworks.
• Proven track record designing systems with knowledge accumulation, memory, or continual learning.
• Experience designing systems that learn from real‑world operation and expert feedback.
• Strong people leadership including recruiting, building, and leading technical teams.
• Ability to define a clean technical architecture and hold teams to it.
• Excellent communication to align scientists, engineers, domain experts and leaders around strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI science team delivering world model and agentic-learning capability.
• Design mechanisms to turn operation into continual improvement with expert corrections and in-context learning.
• Partner with domain scientists to apply capabilities at scale while preserving expert judgment.
• Define accountability, evaluation, and auditable decision-making processes.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a 4–8 person team of AI scientists; foster rigor and ownership.
