Job summary

JAKLITSCH / GARDNER ARCHITECTS, based in New York City, seeks an Architect with 6–8 years of continuous post-graduate experience to lead projects from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with principals, manage high-profile design goals, and contribute across all phases of projects.

The candidate will coordinate drawings, oversee specifications, and participate in agency approvals while embracing design and sustainability. Hybrid in-office/remote work policy.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• Solid construction document experience with a focus on architectural detailing.
• Technical intelligence with regard to building systems.
• Excellent leadership ability and high level written and verbal communication skills.
• Critically thoughtful, conceptually based, and process-oriented design ability.
• Desire to be involved and contribute to all aspects of a project in all phases.
• Collaborative yet self-directed; highly motivated, proactive, and resourceful.
• Experience across all project phases, including Project documentation.
• Agency approvals (NYC Landmarks, SHPO, Public Design Commission, and Building Codes).
