Job summary

Curtis + Ginsberg Architects LLP, an award-winning Manhattan architecture firm, is seeking an Intermediate Architect to contribute to sustainable design and equity-driven projects in the New York metropolitan area.

The role focuses on large-scale renovations, coordination with project teams, and development through construction documents. A professional degree and US work eligibility are required; experience with NYC codes and multi-family housing is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience, including rehabilitation of existing buildings.
  • Proficiency in BIM and REVIT with knowledge of LOD and industry standards.
  • Experience with coordination and production of construction documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and design skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Team member for large-scale renovation projects involving multiple buildings and campus infrastructure.
  • Interface with Project Manager, Project Architect and other team members; coordinate work scopes with the project team.
  • Participate in design development and construction documents from schematic to construction drawings.
  • Assist in preparation of technical drawings and presentation imagery.
  • Assist with bid period and construction administration, including site visits and owner coordination.

Intermediate Architect

Curtis + Ginsberg Architects LLP – award‑winning Manhattan architecture firm focused on sustainable design and equity. The firm has a team of 45+ and specializes in mixed‑use, multi‑family residential, cultural, planning, institutional and educational projects that enhance communities in the New York metropolitan area.

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually.

Responsibilities
  • Team member for large‑scale renovation projects involving multiple buildings and campus infrastructure. Projects may also include sustainable mixed‑use, residential, education and institutional work from feasibility through construction administration.
  • Interface with Project Manager, Project Architect and other team members. Coordinate individual work scopes with the rest of the project team.
  • Participate in coordination of design and production of all phases, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
  • Assist in preparation of technical drawings, design and conceptual presentation imagery.
  • Assist with bid period and construction administration services, including site visits and coordination with the owner (private and/or public agency).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 4‑7 years of experience, including rehabilitation of existing buildings.
  • Expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM). Excellent REVIT skills and full understanding of LOD classifications and industry standards for model elements at all phases.
  • Navisworks experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and design skills; ability to work independently.
  • Experience in construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Commitment to sustainable design.
  • Experience in New York City, NYC Building Codes and multi‑family housing a plus.
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3‑D proficiency and Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) required.
  • LEED and/or Passive House certification a plus.
  • Excellent English language communication and client interface skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • US experience required.
