Job summary

Burgess & Niple is seeking an experienced Architect to lead construction drawing development and coordinate with engineering disciplines across projects in Norfolk, VA. You will balance independent work with collaborative teamwork while expanding your technical expertise and taking on greater project responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture required; NAAB-accredited preferred.
• Master of Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program preferred.
• Registered Architect in the state or eligible for reciprocal licensure via NCARB.
• 5–15 years of professional architectural experience.
• Experience with multiple building types and understanding of codes and detailing.
• Ability to develop construction details and construction drawings.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of detailed construction drawings from design development through construction documents.
• Coordinate architectural design with engineering disciplines as part of a design team.
• Conduct field visits during construction to monitor progress and reporting.
• Review shop drawings, project data and samples of materials during construction.
