Shield AI is seeking a Senior Director of Operations & Sustainment to architect and lead the post-delivery ecosystem for Hivemind products, ensuring successful deployment, operation, maintenance, and evolution of VIDAR hardware and HME/HMS software. This hands-on leadership role spans Product Engineering, Customer Success, and Field Operations to sustain readiness and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 15 years of experience leading software operations, sustaining engineering, technical support, or product lifecycle organizations.
• Experience with government, defense, or mission-critical software systems.
• Experience supporting sustainment or ILS for integrated hardware/software products.
• Proven success building operational organizations from the ground up.
• Strong systems engineering mindset with scalable processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams through complex issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, integration, and operational deployment of HME software within customer environments.
• Develop repeatable deployment methodologies and best practices to reduce timelines.
• Own strategy and execution for customer education and operations knowledge management.
• Lead engineering efforts and manage configurations/upgrades for customer environments.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability and customer experience.
• Establish operational processes, governance, and engineering best practices.
