Job summary

Shield AI seeks an experienced System Architect to own the architecture of Hivemind Forge—a comprehensive AI development ecosystem enabling build, train, tune, evaluate, and deploy of learning-based autonomy solutions. You will join the SEIT team within Hivemind Enterprise to set architectural integrity across cloud, HPC, and secure environments.

You will define data schemas, provenance, and lifecycle management while aligning AI/ML, data, and software workflows with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software or software-intensive systems development, design, and/or architecture.
• Experience architecting complex software platforms, developer ecosystems, SDKs, APIs, AI/ML platforms, or distributed systems.
• Experience in data modeling, metadata, lineage, provenance, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of end-to-end traceability, reproducibility, and auditability across data, training configurations, model artifacts, evaluations, software, and deployments.
• Experience applying Generative AI, AI assistants, or agents to workflows.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Slurm or similar schedulers, containerization, IaC, and cloud/on-prem storage.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of the Hivemind Forge AI development ecosystem.
• Define architecture products in MBSE environments, linking intent to execution.
• Establish architectural patterns, interfaces, APIs, SDK concepts, and standards.
• Define data and metadata architecture for the AI development lifecycle.
• Ensure traceable pedigree across datasets, trainings, models, evaluations, and deployments.
• Architect GenAI-enabled workflows; accelerate data curation, autonomy development, evaluation, and deployment with human oversight.
• Define architecture for integrating AI coding assistants, agents, foundation models, and NL interfaces.
• Design scalable AI/ML workloads across cloud, HPC, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Ensure operation in classified, air-gapped, and restricted environments with security and reproducibility.
• Guide workflows spanning data ingestion, synthetic data, model training, evaluation, deployment.
• Review designs, resolve cross-team issues, maintain architectural integrity.
• Partner with leadership teams to reduce time from mission needs to validated autonomy.
