Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking an Architect for Data Centers & Workplace to lead strategic planning, design, and execution of facilities and infrastructure across multiple sites. The role requires collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, and business teams to deliver integrated, compliant designs on aggressive timelines.

You will oversee CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, workplace program planning, and site selection with real estate and leasing partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Active Architectural licensure in at least one U.S. state; NCARB certification preferred.
• LEED AP certification or equivalent in sustainable design.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management in high-tech/dc environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and support the construction of advanced data centers and AI infrastructure.
• Collaborate across civil, structural, MEP, fire protection, procurement, and construction teams to develop integrated solutions.
• Create Basis of Design documents and RFQ packages for external consultants, architects, and vendors; respond to RFIs and iterate.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to refine designs with risk mitigation and delivery objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, zoning, and environmental standards while guiding architectural elements.
• Initiate and manage facility/infrastructure projects essential to AI operations and business continuity.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with engineering, operations, and leadership to align on project expectations.
• Lead portfolio planning for offices, labs, and data centers including lease renewals and fit-outs.
• Oversee external partners to ensure design excellence, cost-effective procurement, and adherence to MSAs.
