Job summary

PBW Architects in Friday Harbor seeks a full-time designer to lead custom residential projects from concept through construction. Job description

PBW Architects is an award-winning, nationally-recognized firm specializing in custom residential architecture and small-scale public work. From our home base in the Pacific Northwest, we have completed projects across the United States and beyond. We seek a full-time employee to join our design team. This role is best suited for someone who is eager to learn, collaborative, flexible, and able to engage a variety of projects and tasks. We need someone passionate about creative exploration and up to the challenge of design-focused problem solving, ready to guide a project from initial sketch to final walkthrough.

Required
  • Professional degree
  • 5+ years of experience, experience in custom residential work preferred
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD or other BIM modeling software, SketchUp, and Adobe software suite
  • Creative thinking tempered with strong technical knowledge
  • Focus on thoughtful detailing
Extras
  • Architectural licensure or working towards completion
  • Educational background or equivalent experience in landscape design
  • Ability to work from our Friday Harbor office is preferred; candidates based in Seattle or Winthrop will also be considered

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience working on custom residential architecture or other small-scale work in a design-focused firm, and is looking for a full-time job in a fun, collaborative environment with the chance to use and develop a broad array of skills and knowledge. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable with the construction process, and who is well rounded in all aspects of project delivery including design, presentation, construction documents, and construction administration. Experience in landscape design, including how its unique challenges can be best integrated with built environment, is a plus.
