Overview

PROJECT ARCHITECT / BODE DEVELOPMENT

BODE is an established vertically integrated multi-family developer with in-house design, construction, and property management. BODE is a fully-integrated real estate development company with Architectural, Engineering, and Construction departments. BODE has been based in the Puget Sound since 1990. Our focus is affordable multi-family housing for emerging middle-class tenants. Our offering enables tenants to live in attractive, urban environments within close proximity to public transportation and amenities. We are rapidly growing, changing, and improving every aspect of our business model for the future needs of urban housing and planning. We currently own and manage 22 properties across Puget Sound and are planning and designing an additional 5,000 units to our assets under management.

As an ARCHITECT of our multi-family housing projects, your primary responsibility is to assist in the planning, design, and execution of new multi-family building designs.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Planning: You shall be expected to be able to collaborate with the design team in creating innovative and functional architectural plans for multi-family housing projects. This includes developing floor plans, building elevations, and other design elements that maximize space, promote sustainability, and adhere to current building codes and regulations.
  • Project Management: You shall be responsible for managing the flow of information and product deliverables from conceptual development through construction completion. This involves collaborating with the Lead Architect, the Executive Team, AHJ, and additional stakeholders to ensure the project meets the desired objectives within the allocated timelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: You shall be expected to foster professional growth and encourage an environment. Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, construction, and consultants are crucial in this role. In addition, you shall be expected to design proposals and value solutions for the team that have been aligned with our company's mission towards functional affordability.
  • Technical Expertise: You are expected to have a strong understanding of construction materials, mechanical building systems, and structural engineering principles. You are expected to work in collaboration with the Construction Teams to integrate all design and technical aspects, ensuring durability, sustainability, and functional efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: You shall be responsible for reviewing a product that meets the BODE quality standards. This includes reviewing construction progress and presenting any design or construction solutions for unexpected issues.
  • Research and Innovation: You are encouraged to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and sustainable practices in multi-family housing. Research and incorporating innovative design solutions, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable building materials into your projects will promote the BODE specifications. BODE understands that there are many options available for continued education, and supports reasonable time allotted to pursue such venues.
Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Prior experience as a Project Architect handling multiple large projects at the same time. Work with consultants (MEP, Structural, Civil, Landscape, Energy) to complete all plans for Building Permit approvals.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 3+ years of experience as a licensed Architect, or as a professional designer/intern who can, through experience, take a project from Schematic Design all the way through building construction completion.
  • ACAD and REVIT proficiency.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, building codes, and other technical product and material specifications, as well as manage VDC obligations and responsibilities.
  • Understanding of common site logistics issues, building systems, and related means and methods.
  • Expertise with construction coordination processes is strongly preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who works well with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Good communication skills.
Company Benefits
  • Full-Time employment
  • A competitive base salary based on the state in and local Seattle wages average.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family members.
  • 401K plan.
  • Paid vacation starting at 60 days.
  • Paid Sick Leave.
  • 5 Paid Holidays.
  • Ongoing training and employee development.
