Job summary

MWA Architects in San Francisco seeks a Designer to join our growing infrastructure design studio. You will contribute to projects through all phases of design and construction under senior staff guidance, preparing design studies and construction documents, and developing technical solutions for assigned portions of a project.

We require 3–5 years of project designer experience, proficiency in Revit/Bluebeam/3D modeling/SketchUp, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of project designer experience in a small to medium firm/studio.
  • Experience assisting in highly technical project types (industrial, civic, commercial, administration, operations, laboratory, maintenance, facilities, public works, or transportation).
  • Non-licensed architectural status with knowledge of California building codes; Oregon/Washington desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, 3D modeling, SketchUp and related programs.
  • LEED accreditation preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in person Tue-Thu in the SF office; hybrid schedule offered.

MWA Architects is seeking a Designer to join our growing San Francisco infrastructure design studio. Our collaborative team designs sustainable, resilient, and beautiful facilities for the water, power, public works, and transportation sectors. We are looking for a team player who is responsible, enthusiastic, and organized, and who can adapt to the demands of multiple complex project scopes at all phases of design and construction. You will bring attention to detail, the ability to communicate with the design team and managers, and demonstrate critical judgment and acquired knowledge.

Your responsibilities

Requirements
  • At least three to five years of project designer experience within a small to medium-sized firm/studio environment with at least two years of experience with assisting in highly technical project types, such as industrial, civic, commercial, administration, operations, laboratory, maintenance, facilities, public works, or transportation facilities.
  • Non-licensed architectural status with experience with California building codes. Oregon and/or Washington state also desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, 3D computer modeling, SketchUp, and related programs
  • LEED accreditation preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in person Tue-Thu in the SF office. A hybrid schedule is currently offered and is subject to team needs.

Salary Range

At MWA Architects, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $73,000 and $83,000, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, licensure, and years of experience.
