Job summary

Sundance Consultants, part of True Environmental, seeks a temporary on-call field technician for archaeological fieldwork across the Western United States, including Utah and Nevada locations (Reno, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Elko). The role is hourly, $20–$25 per hour, with travel and field duties.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field and field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology or related field is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with others and be a proactive project team member.
• Ability to hike long distances on uneven terrain (5–10 miles per day).
• Access to a laptop for timesheets and reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological pedestrian surveys.
• Collect archaeology data (GPS, photos, site forms, sketches).
• Perform subsurface testing or artifact identification.
• Record measurements and detailed notes of artifacts.
• Prepare high-quality field notes and reports.
• Work as part of a team or independently as required.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.
