Job summary

Chronicle Heritage is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to support projects throughout the West, including Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The role involves pedestrian surveys, monitoring, and site recording under the Field Director, with per diem for out‑of‑town stays and lodging arranged.

Preferred candidates are local to the Salt Lake City area or willing to relocate, and must have a bachelor’s degree and field experience. This is a full-time hourly position based on-site in Utah.

Qualifications

• Candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology or a closely related field.
• Field school completion or demonstrated equivalent field experience is required.
• Minimum several months of survey fieldwork experience is needed.
• Willingness to travel frequently for extended periods is essential.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pedestrian surveys, monitor project sites, and assist delineation and recording.
• Support field team with data collection, mapping, and site documentation.
