Job summary

Stantec is seeking archaeological staff to join our Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team in Colorado. You will assist with pre-field planning, surveys, monitoring, and data collection while supporting project managers and field directors across multiple western offices.

Travel to job sites and an adaptable, safety-focused mindset are essential. We value candidates with a field school background, GPS proficiency, familiarity with Survey123/Collector, and experience with Native American

Qualifications

  • Willing to learn and be flexible within an interdisciplinary, fast-paced team.
  • Able to travel out of town for up to 2 weeks at a time.
  • Working knowledge of State issued forms.
  • Proficient with Trimble sub-meter GPS and related software.
  • Completed archaeological field school or demonstrable equivalent training.
  • Capable of physically demanding tasks in remote areas (walking, hiking, up to 50 pounds).
  • Experience working with Native American groups.
  • Familiarity with Survey123 and Collector apps.
  • Section 106 compliance specialization on federal lands.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Committed to safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support field directors and project managers with pre-field planning, surveys, and monitoring.
  • Exhibit field skills, work independently or in a crew.
  • Identify and record areas of archaeological potential and sites.
  • Collect appropriate field data.
  • Support construction planning.
