The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Intern to gain field experience in tree care, health care, sales and client services. This paid internship offers hands-on climbing and pruning training with safety-focused mentors in an outdoor setting.

Starting Summer 2027, the role is temporary, full-time, with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour. Equipment and safety gear are provided, with opportunities for advancement and industry training support.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Willing to complete safety trainings (First Aid, CPR, defensive driving) on hire.
• Prefer background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as part of a tree crew.
• Perform tree pruning and removal tasks safely under supervision.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and protective systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
