Bartlett Tree Experts in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to lead a tree care crew and perform arboriculture tasks safely and efficiently. The role emphasizes leadership, client communication, and high standards of workmanship.

The position requires at least 3 years of climbing experience with 1 year of crew leadership, a valid driver’s license, and year-round availability to work outdoors; starting pay is $30.00+/HR based on experience.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF CLIMBING EXPERIENCE WITH 1 YEAR CREW LEADER EXPERIENCE.
• BASIC CLIMBING SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED AND WILL BE DEMONSTRATED DURING INTERVIEW.
• VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE; CLASS B CDL PREFERRED.
• ABILITY TO WORK OUTDOORS YEAR-ROUND IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS.
• PROACTIVE, TEAM-ORIENTED, SELF-MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing and supervising all arboriculture tasks incl. pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, and removals.
• Maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Supervising crews and ensuring training for each job assignment.
• Building relationships with clients and communicating project details.
• Upholding industry and company standards in all tree care work.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
