Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services in Austin seeks an Accountant III to support Accounts Receivable and voucher processing. You will balance, reconcile, and enter financial data across CAPPS, USAS, ARTS, CAPPS Financials, and PeopleSoft.

The role requires attention to GAAP and government accounting, with collaboration across internal and external teams. In this AR Voucher position, you will respond to inquiries, assist on special projects, and support management.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting and financial operations
• Experience with automated accounting systems
• Experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Acrobat, Outlook)
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, auditing, or budgeting; government or nonprofit experience preferred
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may follow a specific or rotating shift schedule as required
• Balance and reconcile financial records across CAPPS, USAS, ARTS and related systems
• Process daily revenue transactions and record revenue in the state accounting systems
• Review and reconcile journal documents ensuring accurate entries
• Respond to daily inquiries and support AR management on special projects
