Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Austin is seeking an Accountant III – AR Access Rules to oversee accounts receivable activities, including billing, reconciliation, and refunds. The role requires strong data handling and timely fund moves within ARTS and other systems.

The position emphasizes collaboration with internal accounting teams, timely responses to inquiries, and adherence to state guidelines. Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, in-office; travel up to 20% is possible; telework is not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of billing, collections, financial research, accounting, finance, or cash-handling experience in related field.
• State or Governmental accounting preferred.
• Experience using automated accounting or customer database systems is preferred.
• Experience using MS Office suite or equivalent (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is preferred.
• Excellent written communications as observed by detail and completeness of information provided on the state application.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process refund requests, fund moves, claim setups and additional tasks via email and mail.
• Process and keep client information confidential.
• Research, analyze, and process financial data using multiple client-based accounting systems.
• Backup AR tasks as assigned by management.
• Ensure funds are deposited within 72 hours of receipt and follow guidelines.
