Tejas Materials, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an accounts receivable clerk to ensure accurate payment application and timely resolution of discrepancies. You will post customer payments from multiple sources and assist with month-end close, refunds, and special projects within the Credit & Accounting department.

• Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, credit card transactions daily, and payments from online portal.
• Post all checks, deposits, and Received on Account payments in a timely manner.
• Pull and post payments from Lockbox.
• Adjust incorrect payments from counter sales.
• Notify the Credit Department of any unapplied cash/short pays.
• Assist in month closing of all AR.
• Assist in processing of customer refund checks.
• Assist with any projects and tasks required by the Credit & Accounting department.
• Other duties as assigned.
