Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners in New York, NY is seeking a qualified coder/biller to support surgical coding and hospital billing. You will review clinical documentation to code and post charges for insurance billing and assist with CPT and ICD-10 coding.

The role requires a High School diploma and at least three years of related coding or medical billing experience; CPC is preferred. You will maintain patient confidentiality, comply with regulations, and assist with AR for assigned providers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient confidentiality per policy.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete mandated training including OSHA training and PPD placements.
  • Work Accounts Receivable (AR) for assigned providers.
  • Review assigned provider surgical schedules.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

About the Role

To be considered a qualified candidate, must have knowledge of CPT surgical coding and ICD10 diagnostic coding.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Review all clinical documentation to code and post-surgery charges and hospital charges for insurance billing.
  • Assist with CPT and ICD 10 coding.
  • Will keep lines of communication open with Team Lead and Supervisor.
  • Maintains all patient information according to the established patient confidentiality policy.
  • Maintains compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for completing, in a timely manner, all mandated training and in-services, including but not limited to annual OSHA training and PPD placements.
  • Responsible for working Accounts Receivable (AR) for assigned providers.
  • Review assigned provider surgical schedules.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
What We Expect from You
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years related coding or medical billing experience is required.
  • CPC preferred
Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
