Job summary

M-D Building Products, Inc is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Credit Analyst to support credit risk analysis, collections, deductions, payment application, and account reconciliation. The role partners with Sales, Customer Service, Distribution, and Finance to resolve issues and maintain accurate financial information.

The candidate will evaluate creditworthiness, monitor AR activity, and recommend limits while supporting timely order release decisions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of accounts receivable/credit/collections or related experience.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Experience analyzing customer accounts, collections, deductions, and credit information.
• Experience performing account reconciliations and researching payment discrepancies.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle preferred.
• Experience with customer portals, lockbox systems, or electronic payment systems preferred.
• Knowledge of customer sales tax documentation and exemption requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze new customer credit applications and due diligence.
• Evaluate creditworthiness and recommend limits and terms.
• Perform periodic credit reviews and monitor risk exposure.
• Monitor aging, payment history, credit exposure, and past-due balances.
• Contact customers about past-due invoices and resolve issues.
• Research and resolve deductions, disputes, and discrepancies.
• Collect, apply, and allocate customer payments and reconcile accounts.
• Review credit holds and authorize releases per policy.
• Support new customer setup with required documentation.
• Maintain customer tax documentation and exemption certificates.
• Utilize Oracle and other tools to research transactions and maintain data.
• Develop and monitor AR metrics and trend analyses.
• Support cash flow forecasting with payment insights.
• Identify process improvements and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on credit risk and collections.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Distribution, and Finance to resolve issues.
