Job summary

QBE Global LLC in Haymarket, VA is seeking a Staff Accountant to own customer billing and accounts receivable for our government contracting business. You’ll manage the full AR cycle, invoicing, cash application, collections and reconciliations, and impact cash flow and month-end close.

2+ years of hands-on AR experience in Unanet is required; you’ll work with the Controller and program managers, document processes, and support audits while offering opportunities to grow into project accounting

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience with hands-on customer billing and AR (invoicing, cash application, collections, reconciliations).
• Hands-on experience in Unanet (required).
• Experience with accounts payable, expense reports, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of the general ledger and month-end close.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to meet recurring deadlines with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Billing & AR: prepare/review invoices, apply cash, follow up on collections, reconcile AR.
• Unanet setup: maintain customer, project and billing records in Unanet.
• Accounts payable & expenses: process vendor invoices, coding, approvals and payments; review expense reports.
• Reconciliations & close: bank/credit card/GL reconciliations and routine journal entries.
• Timesheets: review submissions and coordinate corrections for payroll/billing.
• Program control: review labor/costs, budget-to-actual analysis, support project questions.
• Continuous improvement: collaborate on accounting projects and audits.
