Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Swim Instructor II at the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA to teach swim lessons for all ages and levels in a safe, welcoming environment.

You will create lesson plans, teach strokes and water safety per YMCA guidelines, monitor students, provide feedback, and supervise aides. CPR/First Aid and YMCA certifications are required, with eligibility to obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Requires YMCA Swim Instructor certification and CPR/First Aid certifications.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills per YMCA standards.
• Ability to lift equipment and assist participants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons (group, private, adaptive) for all ages and levels per YMCA guidelines.
• Create and implement lesson plans tailored to age and swim level.
• Teach strokes, breathing, and water safety; monitor and motivate students.
• Provide feedback to help students improve; maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Organize equipment and maintain records as required; train and supervise class aides.
