Job summary

Milwaukee Public Schools' Milwaukee Recreation seeks an Associate II, Recreation Supervisor (Aquatics) to oversee the new community center's aquatics programs, including youth/adult swim, water safety lessons, and lifeguard/instructor training.

You will partner with district departments and community groups, ensure safe pool operations, supervise part-time staff, and help promote participation while aligning with district goals. Strong leadership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in parks, recreation, and tourism management or related field.
• Minimum one year of full-time aquatics experience in urban recreation.
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR, LGI and WSIT; CPO or AFO preferred or obtainable within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instructional programs year-round at multiple locations for the Aquatics program.
• Establish partnerships with departments, schools, and community organizations to develop quality aquatics programs.
• Maintain a safe pool environment, assist with pool operations, water testing, and basic maintenance.
• Plan staff trainings and in-services; recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff.
• Collaborate on facility scheduling and promotional materials to grow participation.
