Job summary

The City of Roseville Parks, Recreation & Libraries department seeks a dedicated Recreation Coordinator to oversee three aquatics facilities, lifeguard staff, budget, swim lessons, events, and outreach. This role emphasizes safety and high-quality patron experiences across all functions.

Two levels exist: Coordinator I (1 year experience; Bachelor’s degree; California driver’s license; First Aid/CPR within 6 months) and Coordinator II (2 years’ experience; same degree and licenses).

Qualifications

• One year of professional experience in recreation program development and implementation desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, First Aid and CPR Certifications as issued by the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of professional experience performing duties similar to Recreation Coordinator I with the City of Roseville for Recreation Coordinator II.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, First Aid and CPR Certifications as issued by the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifeguard staff and aquatics facilities operations.
• Manage the operating budget for aquatics and related programs.
• Coordinate swim lesson programs and safety protocols.
• Plan and execute special events and community outreach initiatives.
• Collaborate with department leaders to ensure outstanding patron experiences and safety.
