Job summary

Associated Students Inc., CSUF invites applications for the Aquatics and Safety Coordinator. This exempt, full-time role supervises Titan Recreation’s aquatic operations, oversees learn-to-swim and Red Cross programs, and leads risk management and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field or experience.
• Minimum of 1 year related aquatics experience.
• ARC Lifeguard Certification, LGI, and WSI certifications.
• Ability to lead and train aquatics staff and manage programs.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage daily operations of the Student Recreation Center pool.
• Develop, manage, implement and assess diverse aquatic programming and events.
• Collaborate with Operations Coordinator for facility reservations based on needs.
• Oversee Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid training for ASC staff.
• Oversee aquatics staff recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations.
• Conduct regular in-service training for aquatics staff.
• Lead SRC Safety Training Days (2 per academic year).
• Administer SRC Safety Checks and drills (Yellow/Orange/Red).
• Maintain risk management knowledge and program compliance.
• Prepare annual budgets and revenue/expense plans for aquatics.
• Develop marketing with campus groups for programs and events.
• Collect and analyze data; prepare annual aquatics report.
• Foster cross-department collaboration and team communication.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Recreation, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

One year of related experience

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) Certification

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
