Job summary

City of Greeley is seeking an Aquatics Specialist to provide leadership and operations support for the lifeguard program. You will handle scheduling, training, staff development, recruitment, and safety audits, coordinating with Pool Managers and Aquatics leadership.

The role requires lifeguarding experience, swim lesson instruction, and certifications (Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid; CPO or eligibility). Travel is minimal, and the position offers benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Aquatics, or related field.
• One (1) year lifeguarding experience; one (1) year swim lesson instruction experience; valid drivers license; Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications; CPO certification or within 90 days of hire.
• OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in candidate performing essential functions.
• AND Possession of a valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate lifeguard scheduling, substitute coverage, recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
• Plan and conduct lifeguard in-service training and assist with certification courses.
• Conduct safety audits and staff observations in coordination with Pool Managers.
• Assist with hiring, supervision, performance evaluations, coaching, and staff development.
• Facilitate regular Pool Manager meetings and support consistency across facilities.
• Provide operational support to Pool Managers and aquatic staff.
