Job summary

YMCA of the Seacoast is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations and personnel in the aquatics department at the Seacoast location. The role emphasizes safety, program support as Lifeguard/Instructor/Coach, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in sports management, recreation management, applied health or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum 3 years of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor/Swim Team Coach experience with risk management focus.
• Current nationally recognized Swim Instructor and/or Lifeguard certifications.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of general computer and tablet use, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with staff scheduling for the aquatics department.
• Provide direct program support as Lifeguard, Swim Instructor or Swim Team Coach.
• Assist onboarding, training and development of department staff.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching and evaluation to staff.
• Assist with department budget administration and monitoring.
• Communicate with members and parents about programs and activities.
• Coordinate birthday party bookings, payments, contracts and liaison with aquatics and welcome center staff.
• Support maintenance of equipment and facilities.
