Principal Responsibilities:
The Aquatics Program Manager is a multifaceted role responsible for supporting swim team development, overseeing daily aquatics operations, and supervising lifeguard staff. This position combines coaching, administrative coordination, and safety leadership to ensure a high-quality, organized, and safe aquatic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Aquatics Director and Head Swim Coach to deliver a high-quality swim program experience.
- Support daily aquatics operations, including scheduling, administration, and program coordination.
- Serve as a point of contact for member inquiries; resolve concerns with professionalism and a solution-focused approach.
- Maintain accurate administrative and programming records, including attendance, certifications, and incident reports.
- Partner with Marketing to promote programs, communicate updates, and support enrollment efforts.
Swim Team Leadership
- Co-lead competitive and pre-competitive Waverunners swim programs for athletes ages 5-18.
- Oversee daily team operations, including practice management, meet logistics, and administrative tasks.
- Coach on deck during practices; develop swimmers' technique, performance, and sportsmanship.
- Attend and coach at dual meets, championship meets, and assigned USA Swimming events.
- Assist with time trials, clinics, parent meetings, and end-of-season events.
- Manage team rosters, entries, and records using Team Manager, Meet Manager, and related systems.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding athlete development, team policies, and updates.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches in partnership with the Head Coach.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture that motivates athletes and builds confidence.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordinate scheduling for swim practices, meets, and staff shifts.
- Assist with registration, billing coordination, and program communications.
- Support planning and execution of aquatics programs, events, and clinics.
Lifeguard Supervisor Duties
- Supervise and evaluate lifeguard staff to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Create and manage lifeguard schedules, including shift coverage and substitutions.
- Conduct regular in-service trainings, drills, and performance assessments.
- Enforce pool rules, emergency procedures, and risk management practices.
- Respond to and document incidents, ensuring proper follow-up and reporting.
