Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, West Virginia, seeks a capable aquatics program lead to deliver high-quality experiences for scouts and guests. You will guide staff, plan lessons, and present to groups of youths while upholding Scout Oath and Law in daily operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading teams, preferably with Summit employment
• Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or ability to obtain before start
• NCS Aquatics Director Card or ability to obtain before start
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Responsibilities

• Lead department staff, including scheduling and training.
• Teach aquatics-based merit badges and lessons.
• Present in front of groups of 2–24 youth and transfer knowledge.
• Submit advancement paperwork to supervisor promptly.
• Assist with setup, maintenance, and takedown of program areas.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
